The HR Misfits Collective was born from a shared frustration with traditional HR - the checkbox mentality, the performative culture work, the templates that don't account for the messy reality of leading people.
We're experienced HR executives who've sat in the rooms where hard decisions get made.

Meet the Misfits
Ami Graves
Founder & Voice of the HR Misfits Collective
Ami is a seasoned Chief Human Resources Officer and trusted advisor to executives navigating complex people and leadership decisions. With deep experience across technology, professional services, and global organizations, she has spent her career sitting at the intersection of business strategy and human impact. Ami is known for bringing clarity to messy situations—whether that’s navigating executive dynamics, scaling organizations without breaking trust, or helping leaders see the downstream consequences of their decisions before they show up as risk. She is the creator and host of the HR Misfits podcast, where she brings candid, grounded conversations to the leadership issues most organizations avoid. Her approach is business-minded, human-centered, and unapologetically honest. Ami doesn’t believe HR exists to police leadership - she believes it exists to make leadership better.
LaToya Davis
Enterprise Perspective & Strategic Thought Partner
LaToya brings a current, enterprise-level lens to the Collective, with experience advising senior executives inside large, complex organizations. Her background includes supporting C-suite leaders across corporate functions, navigating organizational risk, and leading through moments where reputation, trust, and leadership credibility are on the line. She is a trusted voice for pressure-testing decisions against real-world enterprise dynamics—where politics are real, consequences are public, and missteps are costly. LaToya’s strength lies in helping leaders understand how decisions land at scale, long before they become headlines or HR crises. Within the Collective, LaToya serves as a strategic thought partner bringing clarity, context, and an unfiltered enterprise perspective to the conversations that matter most.
Marci Coppola
Leadership Advisor & Client Experience Lead
Marci is a leadership advisor, former senior HR leader, and founder of Seshen Coaching, where she works with executives and teams navigating change, complexity, and personal leadership growth. After years inside organizations, Marci now brings that experience into deeper advisory and coaching work—helping leaders align how they lead with who they are. She is particularly skilled at holding space for the human side of leadership decisions: trust fractures, team tension, burnout, identity shifts, and moments of inflection. Marci brings depth, grounding, and rigor to the Collective’s client experience, ensuring that insight translates into meaningful leadership action. Her work is thoughtful, challenging, and deeply human without being soft or performative.
